She won’t eat, she won’t drink. I noticed immediately something was wrong when she hid under the bed and didn’t come out even when I called. There was vomit everywhere.

I placed her in the bathroom, and went to work. She had a basket bed, water, food, toys and her own liter pan. I thought she was just having a day, and needed some alone time.

I was wrong. When I came home she had not moved much, she didn’t eat or drink or use the pan. SHE HAD vomited about a gallon of bile and was now vomiting up blood.

I FREAKED. To the emergency vet we went. And 500$ later they tell me she just has gas. I’m doubtful and they show me her x-rays. Gas is very apparent in her stomach and intestines…which are as empty as anything. They give her some shots, and send her home.

She spent the night in her basket, and when I checked in the morning she was unmoved, in the same position I had placed her in the night before.
I picked her up, and she was limp, drooling, and would not open her eyes.

To the vet we went. This time to her vet.

She stayed there for 9 hours, tested poked, prodded. She was dehydrated, half starved and completely lethargic. She however, refuses to eat and will not drink. $$$ Later she is home and still miserable.

I have spent the night with her, and have called out of work. Her medication is almost torturous to me. There are syringes, pills, pastes, and instructions for every few hours, and dedicated nursing. Yet she won’t take the pills, and she has started to growl at me and try to bite me.

And I sit on the floor and hold her and cry.

Maru is my sweet baby girl. My Bed buddy, and my sewing buddy. She is my art critic and my little comedian. I don’t know what I will do without her. If she could just eat, if she would just drink. If she would just get up….
